About the Market

market_panorama

The Wanaka Farmers & Gardeners Market was established in 2007 to provide a venue for local gardeners and producers to grow a village style market. Through the years, it has expanded and contracted, mostly with the seasons, and today remains one of the few farmers markets in the country to be held the year round.

With visitors ranging from local regulars, to newcomers discovering the ins and outs of Wanaka and wandering tourists lucky enough to be passing through town on market day, everyone is welcome to come down to see and taste the range of regionally grown and produced foods on offer – whether it’s organic fruits and veges, locally made breads and chutneys, free-range eggs, flavourful microgreens or roasted chestnuts and mulled wine in the wintertime.
